NYU Medical Center hosted a closed-door panel ironically entitled “Confronting Vaccine Resistance” on Monday, November 21, 2016, featuring Dr. Paul Offit, California State Senator Richard Pan, and Hastings law professor (and ever-present social media presence) Dorit Rubenstein Reiss. We understand from many who tried to register that the event was closed to members of the public and admission closely guarded. Thus there was no opportunity for many of those with a different point of view from the one-sided panel to present their concerns and engage in a meaningful dialogue on this contentious issue. NAA NYM Board members Dr. Khalid Rehman, Norene Chin and Giulia Miller joined health advocates, including Polly Tommey, Del Bigtree and others from Vaxxed, and parents of sick children outside NYU Medical Center on a frigid cold day to respectfully express their concerns.
Board Member Norene Chin stated: “It was an amazing opportunity to demonstrate and stand with so many parents and health advocates. It took almost a day to thaw. So great that the Vaxxed team and bus were there!”
Board Member Giulia Miller was interviewed by Vaxxed’s Del Bigtree (at around 11:30 on the video):
