Attendees will develop a better understanding of the various components of Transition Planning, including a framework on how to engage in a planning process that is inclusive to and respectful of your child, tips on what to work on when, and ideas on possible post-21 scenarios regarding: housing, employment, education, developing meaningful relationships and engaging in hobbies.
Elements of past and current Transition Planning efforts by Josh will be highlighted, as well as outstanding work by others in the field. Additional resources provided will include helpful websites, and possible referrals to outside professionals.
About Josh Noble, LCSW
Josh is the Transitions Coordinator at the Rebecca School, in New York City, where he has worked since 2011. Josh uses a person-centered planning approach that is strengths-based, respectful and individualized to empower students and help their families prepare for aging out of the school system at age 21.
Prior to working at the Rebecca School, Josh worked as a family therapist, outside Philadelphia. Josh is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a Certificate in Family Therapy. He has a Master’s degree from Bryn Mawr College’s School of Social Work, and a Bachelor’s degree from American University. Josh lives in Manhattan with his wife and two young sons.
